Meet Kyle Scantlin

As a child, I never had any specific aspirations of what I wanted to be when I grew up. I never could picture any career that made me feel like it fit me and my personality just right. All I knew was, the only thing that ever truly interested me was the thought of working with animals. Most of the other subjects in school were boring to me, but anything that had to do with the subject of animals, excited me and had my full attention. I used to dream of the various types of animals that I could eventually study in depth and in some way turn into a future career.

Growing up, I had a black and white English Springer Spaniel, named "Springer" (original, I know!), who truly was my best friend. He and I spent a lot of time together and became inseparable. He was a very sweet and smart pup, and I taught him a few tricks over time. One day in the garage, I showed my dad a new trick I had been teaching him, and my dad just happened to respond with "That's very good. You should train dogs." That was it! That was the first time I had thought of that possibility as a career, and instantly I knew that was what I wanted to do with my life! I called a local dog training facility and got hired on as a decoy to take bites in the suit for protection training, and eventually worked my way up over the years. With those years of experience and training, combined with my going through additional specialty training programs, and even gaining some experience working with exotic animals at a facility that trained them for tv and movies, I began to hone my personal training techniques and eventually realized that in order for me to continue to improve on these methods and techniques, and to provide the best quality and outcome for both the dogs and their owners, I would need to set out on my own.

My wife and I founded K DanielS K-9 Academy in 2019, and since then it has developed a great reputation in the Southern California animal-professionals community. Our goal is to provide the highest quality training for you and your pups. Teaching them with lots of love and praise, and with an extensive knowledge of canine psychology, using their natural instincts and pack mentality, we bring out their confidence and love of working with you as a team. Helping your dog and you build a better and stronger bond and more loving relationship together than you ever knew was possible. A happy and confident dog is a dog that is fulfilled, mentally and emotionally balanced, and loves what they are doing!

Passionate. Patient. Persistent. Pet-lover. These are just a few of the characteristics that describe our style of training and care for your dogs. I know there are common characteristics across the different breeds, but every dog has their own unique personality, and I’ll work with yours to give them guidance that is tailored to their, and your, specific needs.

About Me

Southern California's top dog trainer, Kyle Scantlin has over 29 years of experience when it comes to training dogs of all sizes and breeds. Using his extensive knowledge of dog psychology over the years, he has perfected his training methods and techniques to offer the most simplified and extremely effective training styles, while rehabilitating and transforming so many dogs lives by understanding and addressing the root causes of their behaviors. His simplified set of basic training commands, which include: Heel, Sit, Down, Come, Ok, and No, make it incredibly easy for both, the owners and their pups, to learn how to execute each of them perfectly. These simple commands establish a form of communication and understanding between the dogs and their owners, and are the foundation used to build upon for any direction you may wish to go with your dog’s training. All training is based on positive response/praise rewards, resulting in your dog being happy and eager to perform any commands you give. And most importantly, making your dog a happy and obedient member of your family that brings you a lifetime of joy and love.

Kyle Scantlin Professional Dog Trainer in Southern California

My Background

In 1995, Kyle stepped into the world of professional dog handling and training when he hired on at a respected dog training facility and began mentoring from the kennel owners and top trainers. During these years, Kyle gained extensive experience and skills in working with all types of temperaments, levels of aggression, causes of anxiety and fears in dogs, and has excelled in behavior modification and breaking the dog’s bad habits while building up his or her confidence to new levels. Kyle quickly rose to the head manager status and taught many aspiring apprentices to be great trainers over the years. With high levels of expertise in canine psychology, the training of basic and advanced obedience training, on and off-leash training, personal and home protection training, professional security protection training, and narcotics and explosives detection training, Kyle quickly gained a reputation for being one of the top trainers in the industry. He has also had experience working with the Police K-9 teams, service dogs, show dogs, dogs for TV and film work, and even some exotic animals training.

Before starting up K DanielS K-9 Academy, Kyle honed and perfected his skills and modified his training methods and techniques to bring the most out of the dogs he trains by making his training sessions fun and exciting for both the dogs and their owners. Over the past years, he has kept his trainings private, only offering his skills to select clients, those who are serious and want the most out of their dogs. Or those who are dealing with extreme cases of aggression or fears. Recently K DanielS has opened up to the general public, offering this high level of training at costs well below the average cost of trainings being offered. Take advantage of this incredible opportunity now while it’s still available!
